Ripple & i-payout Partner for Real-Time U.S. & Canada Payouts

Ripple and i-payout have officially partnered to bring real-time cross-border payouts into the U.S. and Canada — with RLUSD stablecoin expansion on the horizon. Here's what it means for global platforms, businesses, and the future of XRP.

Ripple & i-payout Partner for Real-Time U.S. & Canada Payouts

Blockchain infrastructure meets global disbursement — and RLUSD is already waiting in the wings.

Ripple and i-payout officially announced a live partnership on September 29, 2025, targeting one of the most friction-filled corridors in global finance: cross-border payouts into the United States and Canada. Through this partnership, customers using Ripple's cross-border payments solution, Ripple Payments, can now send enterprise payments to U.S. and Canadian beneficiaries quickly, transparently, and at scale — strengthening Ripple's North America payout capabilities. For anyone tracking Ripple's expanding partner network, this is a meaningful, concrete deployment — not a pilot, not a roadmap item. It's live.

Why This Partnership Matters

Cross-border payments into North America have historically been a pain point even for large-scale platforms. Legacy correspondent banking routes can take days to settle, tying up working capital and leaving merchants, freelancers, and treasury teams waiting.

Before working with Ripple, cross-border payments into North America could take days to settle, tying up working capital and limiting how quickly platforms could deliver funds to users. By integrating Ripple's real-time payment infrastructure, i-payout enables faster, more transparent payouts into the United States and Canada.

i-payout is an API-first payout platform designed to help businesses move money globally without operational complexity. The platform enables enterprises to pay individuals and businesses worldwide — including affiliates, gig-economy workers, creators, marketplaces, esports participants, and vendor payments — in over 180 countries and 140+ currencies.

Eddie Gonzalez, CEO of i-payout, put it plainly in the official announcement:

"For nearly two decades, we've helped platforms manage complex, high-volume payouts in over 180 countries. This partnership marks a leap forward — giving our clients the ability to move funds into the U.S. faster, more affordably, and more predictably than ever before; all while delivering complete transparency into transaction status."

What Ripple Payments Actually Does

It's worth grounding this in the mechanics. Ripple Payments allows businesses, banks, and fintechs to move money globally in seconds, dramatically reducing the delays, high costs, and lack of transparency associated with traditional correspondent banking by using blockchain technology to settle transactions instantly and securely.

Ripple Payments uses the XRP Ledger (XRPL) and digital assets to streamline the payment process. The sender's bank or payment provider converts fiat currency into a digital asset like XRP or a stablecoin like RLUSD, which is then transferred over the XRPL where it settles in 3–5 seconds with full transparency. On the receiving end, the digital asset can be converted back into local currency and deposited directly into the recipient's account.

Ripple Payments has processed more than $100 billion in total volume overall. That's not theoretical infrastructure — it's battle-tested at scale.

Who This Specifically Helps

This partnership is particularly powerful for banks, PSPs, and digital platforms operating globally, targeting merchant settlements, freelancer payments, and treasury payments — all of which face increasing pressure to deliver fast, seamless earnings to users across borders.

Think: a Southeast Asian marketplace paying out merchants based in California. An esports platform disbursing prize money to Canadian players. A global staffing agency processing freelancer payments from Europe to the U.S. These are exactly the high-volume, high-urgency use cases where days-long traditional settlement simply doesn't cut it.

Joanie Xie, Vice President and Managing Director of Ripple, framed the significance clearly:

"This marks a foundational step toward modernizing the movement of money on a global scale — not just by making payments faster, but by embedding smarter, more flexible infrastructure directly into the platforms."

One additional data point worth noting: the U.S. payout infrastructure enabled by this partnership reaches more than 40% of global economic activity. For any platform with a global footprint, that coverage matters.

RLUSD: Already on Deck for Expansion

The current integration runs on Ripple Payments' core infrastructure, but the roadmap goes further. The partnership is live in the U.S. and Canada, with plans to expand further in 2025 via stablecoin payouts through Ripple USD (RLUSD), Ripple's USD-backed stablecoin designed for enterprise use cases.

RLUSD is Ripple's enterprise-grade stablecoin, and it's gaining serious traction. Each RLUSD token is supported one-to-one by cash deposits, U.S. Treasuries, and cash equivalents, and is issued under regulatory oversight with approval from the New York Department of Financial Services (NYDFS) and the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA).

The growth trajectory has been notable. Since launching in December 2024, RLUSD has experienced strong global adoption, with a market capitalization of nearly $250 million and $10 billion in trading volume since launch. As of early 2026, RLUSD has surpassed $1 billion in market cap.

Jack McDonald, Senior Vice President of Stablecoins at Ripple, stated that RLUSD's growth is "outpacing our internal projections," with adoption spanning multiple financial sectors.

XRP & Ripple: What This Means for the Ecosystem

While the i-payout partnership itself does not explicitly reference XRP as the settlement asset — Ripple Payments can use either XRP or a stablecoin like RLUSD as the bridge asset Ripple — each new enterprise integration strengthens the broader Ripple ecosystem in several meaningful ways.

For Ripple's business: This deal deepens coverage in NAMER (North America), one of Ripple's designated priority corridors. More live deployments mean more transaction volume flowing through Ripple's infrastructure, reinforcing the value of the XRP Ledger as enterprise financial infrastructure.

For RLUSD: The planned RLUSD stablecoin expansion in this partnership represents another real-world utility deployment for the stablecoin. Unlike many stablecoins designed for retail use, RLUSD has built-in global enterprise utility, improving the speed and efficiency of cross-border payments. Every new enterprise use case expands adoption and liquidity.

For XRP's role: XRP is often used as a bridge asset to move value between currencies in cross-border payments. As Ripple adds more on/off-ramp partners and payout corridors, the utility demand for XRP as a liquidity bridge could increase — though this should be understood as a structural possibility, not a guaranteed price catalyst.

It's important to note: the i-payout announcement does not make any claims about XRP price impact, and neither should we. What it does confirm is that Ripple continues building live, revenue-generating enterprise infrastructure — which is the foundation any long-term utility thesis is built on.

Regulatory Context

Ripple's regulatory posture has steadily improved. Ripple now holds more than 60 licenses globally, including registrations and approvals in jurisdictions such as Singapore, Ireland, and the Cayman Islands. X

When Ripple launched RLUSD in December 2024, CEO Brad Garlinghouse stated the company chose to operate under the New York State Department of Financial Services limited purpose trust company charter, "widely regarded as the premier regulatory standard worldwide."

The improving U.S. regulatory environment for digital assets — including the rescinding of SEC SAB 121, which previously restricted banks from digital asset custody — creates a more favorable backdrop for Ripple's North American expansion, though the pace and shape of any further regulatory clarity remains to be seen.

Bottom Line

The Ripple–i-payout partnership is a confirmed, live deployment — not a speculative roadmap item. It addresses a real friction point (multi-day settlement into North America) with enterprise-grade blockchain infrastructure. The planned RLUSD expansion adds another layer of stablecoin utility to what is already one of the more active cross-border payment ecosystems in digital finance.

For businesses operating globally, this is an infrastructure development worth watching. For the Ripple ecosystem, it's another brick in the wall of real-world adoption.
